If you are interested in learning more about nutrition, Endeavour’s Diploma of Health Science – Nutrition Electives is an excellent place to start. In addition to gaining foundational knowledge of biological and social sciences, you will have the opportunity to choose an elective stream in nutrition that expands your knowledge of food as medicine.
Our nutrition electives also allow students to examine dietetic principles in nutritional medicine, recommended dietary intakes (RDI) and the underpinning principles of food as medicine. For example, learn about social factors that impact our food choices with our Sociology of Food elective. Using a sociological lens, the subject challenges you to consider relationships people have with food both locally and internationally, examine strategies for modifying dietary behaviour and examine economic and social factors that may impact dietary and food choices.
Once you graduate, you can undertake further study in health science degrees, own your own business, be a part of community health project teams or work in various allied health or complementary medicine environments – there are a wide range of opportunities open to you!
